Iron Ring
The Iron Ring is a ring worn by many engineers in Canada as a symbol and reminder of the obligations and ethics associated with being an engineer. The ring is given in a ceremony known as The Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer at the completion of an engineering undergraduate degree. It is worn on the pinky finger of the engineer's dominant hand as a reminder of their ethical standards and obligations to society every time they sign a paper as the ring drags along the page.
